I had the greatest time last week in New York City. Me and my friend Todd headed out for a little inspirational retreat for a couple of days and as soon as we landed, we headed straight for mecca … aka the New York Apple Store on 5th and 59th. It is a piece of freaking work. Total glass cube from the street … you can’t see a store actually … until you go into the cube, down the elevator (which is where I shot this picture from with the point and shoot) and into the underground, 24/7 open land of all things Mac. Unbelievable.

We spent the rest of the trip meeting with some amazingly inspirational people who are investing their lives for the sake of others. It’s remarkable how cool and full NY can feel yet how alone one can feel in the middle of the crowd. These folks are looking to help those guys out. Getting back from New York was even better than going to my favorite city because I got to spend the whole next day with my favorite guy on the planet … my son!

Drew turned seven and we celebrated in style!

… First, we hit up a little early morning IMAX “Ant Bully” at Irvine Spectrum … followed by a little pool party, another family viewing of Princess Bride on the home theater and as much candy that any human could consume in a twelve hour span … good times!
