Blown Away by WiFi SD Card

- October 31st, 2007

WiFi SD Card from Photojojo

When I saw this Eye-Fi WiFi SD Card through Photojojo, I was blown away. Talk about an impulse buy. It’s in the mail right now.

I can’t wait to see the compact flash version but for now the SD will rock my point and shoot. For those of you with a Canon MK II N or a MKIII, if I’m reading this right, this will basically give you the power to upload your images to your laptop or photo service without plugging in. Wow!

I love how my friend Amit over at Photojojo put it … “The future is now.” I’ll let you know what I think when mine comes in.

If you want to get one of your own, click here.

Keep it simple.

the world continues to get smaller and spin faster… next thing you know, photogs will be able to shoot a wedding without cf cards. instead the images will immediately download a back-up to both the photog’s hard drive at home & the one in his pack, and simultaneously ftp each shot to his editor. so, before the bride & groom cut the cake, you have someone backing up the photos, color-correcting the images, and designing the album.

This could be killer for reception slideshows. Have the 1-D write sm jpegs to eye-fi SD card. Have the eye-fi transmit to local macbook pro. Boom! Images are ready and waiting. Is there much control over how and where the images can be sent? Do they have to go through eye-fi’s web services? I look forward to some real world reviews. Keep us posted Dane.
