The girls
- January 12th, 2008Yesterday I mentioned that I got inspired by Me Ra’s Refuse to Say Cheese DVD and had a fun play date with my two youngest girls … Analise and Alaree.
It started with a familiar sight that won’t be like this forever. Little eyes peeking up over the bed. Alaree wanted to have some fun.

Lisi was ready to go …

… and it lit up her little sister!

We started by with a little dance party in the bedroom …

Then we took the party downstairs …

We got a chance blow bubbles …

… and draw …

… and go bonk …

… and discover new body parts …

… and play ball …

… and paint …

It’s messy business …

And worth every minute of it. I love my girls! Thanks Me Ra!!
Keep it simple.

PS … I shot one of my all time favorite engagement shoots this afternoon that I’ll be sure to post about next week! I can’t wait to share with you guys.

I am so glad you posted this! I wasn’t familiar with Me Ra and her work but since you linked us I’m over-the-moon excited! I adore her work – Since my background is primarily in children/family portraits I was stopped in my tracks – I just love her style and I love finding new children photographers to learn from – not to mention her amazing wedding stuff too! Thank you so much for sharing her…
I love the shots of the girls — They definitely looked like they had a great day with Dad! These truly are the days you’ll want to remember!
Cheers! Keri :)

Jess … you’re awesome. She split it open the other day at a friends place. We’re hoping it doesn’t scar too bad. She’s so adventurous … this kind of thing may be her habit! She might need some extra love from Aunt Jessica!!

I love the chalk toes! So cute! I do have a thing for toes and feet and have photographed them for years. Fun photos of your little ones.

Dane, You did such a lovely job documenting your girls spirit’s. I’m sure you will treasure these pictures for years, as will your daughters. Me Ra is wonderful isn’t she! I think today I will do a playful shoot with my own kids. Thanks for the inspiration.
