Dane,
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your Q&A. I met 3 other photographers from my hometown in Florida just from your ustream. I’ve been emailing one of them back and forth for days – we seemed to have a lot in common and her personality really fits mine. We’ve decided to meet for lunch next week and while deciding where to meet so it’s close to both of us, we realized WE LIVE 5 HOUSES DOWN FROM EACH OTHER IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD!!! I am beyond excited! So, thank you so much! Keep inspiring!! – Cindy
Then, I wrote back:
So funny Cindy … DJ just wrote me this morning about this … Shandon wrote him too!! This five doors down thing is awesome!

Hi Dane!
So I heard you heard about our little “connection” down here in Gainesville, FL! Cindy and I, plus two other photogs who met on your site, have dinner planned for next Wednesday night. I shared the story with DJ, who first introduced Cindy right after Imaging USA. I thought it was so crazy that we met each other, that I HAD to email him the story. And it ends up that he thought it was pretty crazy too, as he told you about it! Anyway, thanks for bringing us together. I know that God puts people in our path at the right time, and I’m positive you and your photo group are one of those intentional placements! God Bless. – Shandon

Dane,
Here’s the three of us Gainesville Girls at Dinner. We were so excited to meet each other. Thanks so much for bringing us together, even if you didn’t even know it:) Shandon and Cindy on the left – we’re the two who live in the same neighborhood. Kara Pennington on the right. It was a blast for me to meet them and “talk shop”…my other friends just don’t “get me” when I get into my photography mode (which is all the time now) so it was awesome to be able to share and get ideas, etc.
Again, I can’t say it enough – you west coasters are the best. We all agreed! Thank you for doing what you do for us. Take care. – Cindy

YAY! How exciting to see us on your blog! It really wasn’t coincicence that we met through you… I’m positive it was in God’s plan all along. Thanks for sharing our fabulous little story from Florida! I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that we look forward to many more dinners together. Your Cali group is definitely an inspiration for us to help others here. Can’t wait to meet you all one day!

Great story Dane, makes the world seem smaller sometimes & that reaching out and connecting with like-minded people is not as hard (or as bad) as some may think. I’ve managed to start doing it myself here in “traditional-minded” DC and it’s working out well. You really meet some wonderful people!

You will probably never know how much you REALLY affect the people that view you blog. I’m so glad you are getting a little taste of that because you are quite the inspiration. I can’t wait to meet you at WPPI!!!
