Melissa & Eric Get Married!
- June 26th, 2008As the one who gets to decide what angles get captured at a wedding, paying attention to the things that matter most to the bride and groom is a challenge I love stepping up for. What’s fun is when you come across a couple that make that job easy. Enter Melissa and Eric. These two had it all and we had a blast trying to keep up!

For those of you who know Melissa, I think you’d attest that she is her own woman. I’ve known her for a number of years now (she was a National champion soccer player at Westmont College, where I used to teach) and I am always so impressed with how gifted she is at bringing the serious with the playful: She has intelligence, brilliance and depth while never missing a chance to have a party. And, she’s drop dead gorgeous too. In the words of her new husband, “She’s the whole package.”

6/21 was a great day to get married! Props to Gabriel for the ring idea…

One of the many things I loved about Eric and Melissa’s crew is that they seemed like a fraternity. All the inside jokes. All the stories. All the history. Like, the time when all the guys made fun of the photographer for making them act like they were in a J Crew ad…

And, that other time when they decided to take over and make an Amstel Light ad…

Melissa peaking around the corner just before the ceremony…

A moving moment as the two families become one…

These two are stunning…

Love you guys!

Here’s the full slideshow…
Keep it fresh.

Can you download a PDF version of the book too while you wait for the print copy to come? Because that would be even sweeter than the audiobook version for me. (Especially so I can get your book tour rolling!)
These photos are just SO stunning!

I must say, being a designer myself, you are truly good at what you do, and I would like a few of your cards for my showroom. Melissa and Eric are beautiful people and I feel as though I have grown to know them well, and I feel that you have captured their true personalities as individuals through your photography. Because I was fortunate enough to be their jeweler for their wedding rings, I have to selfishly say that I loved the 6 - 21 shot with the bling, but more than that I love the fact that they remembered to put Barbara Parker on their mailing list for these photos. I would like to have you enlarge a few of them for our showroom. Would you let me know how I can order. Thank you for the great shots, and congratulations Melissa and Eric. Plug in that jewelry steamer and keep that rock clean young lady! Love you. Barbara

Dane, I happened upon your website while surfing the net for wedding blogs. These images are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I especially love the last wedding and my favorite is the one with the father and groom embracing. The emotion and feelings that you have captured in that photo can not be spoken with a thousand words!!! Thanks for sharing this blog…you are truly a talented photographer and artist!
