Its amazing how such a simple question can make me rethink EVERYTHING about what I do. I want to thank you for getting that wheel spinning in my mind. WHO AM I? Not What am I but WHO AM I? Understanding that question and the answer to that question I feel is what will take my business from being a comodity a guy who takes photographs, to someone who records the memories we create in our lives. Memories we can look back at 20 years from know and remember them as if they were yesterday.

Thank you for asking the tough question

Thank you Dane for your inspirational lecture at the PUG meeting last night. My husband and I were talking about it in the car all the way home! It sparked something inside both of us. Something you said still lingers in my heart, "We sometimes worship the creation not the creator." It applies to photography, to art and to life. My husband's photography business fell in to my laps because of circumstances. I was laid of from work recently, and now I find myself investing time and effort in photography. I never knew I had a passion for photography until I met my husband. Because I am an artist on canvas, I find myself so familiar with photography, same passion different medium. Photography is not just a photograph on paper, its life, its our responsibility to capture that life, with the God given talents that we have. Who wouldnt want to capture the creation of our creator?

Thanks Dane!

P.S Not only do I want to be a purple cow.... i want to be a polka-dot striped purple cow!

Dane...I'm so glad I got a chance to meet & listen to your presentation in person at last nights PUG. I just want to thank you for sharing your personal experiences and professional expertise with amateurs such as myself. The lightbulbs were going off in my head throughout your presentation. I loved the descriptions of your family and how you connected it with being your true self as a photographer. I have your book and have only read as far as the pDNA. I can't wait to do the evaluation and complete the book. I already love what I've read and can apply it to my me & my biz. BRAVO! Cheers, Charla

Dane,
Thank you so much for your inspiration last night! You hit everything on the nail- "our essence is us not our photography". I completely agree that we need to identify ourselves and not have our photography identify us; thanks for showing me the light! I look forward to focusing & implimenting your advise and seeing what unfolds!
Keep inspiring!
